Let's talk, cook, eat and live!
ONE NIGHT IN BRUSSELS
Rue Veydt, Ixelles
Brussels, Belgium
When I think of Brussels food isn't something that comes to mind. Some places you immediately associate with food and/or certain types of food. My nights out in Brussels have been mainly meeting up with people for a drink and then onward to some random spot picked out by another in the group. That's how I always approached dinner out in Brussels until one night I stumbled upon this italian gem. Ciao Bella Ristorante served some of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The truffle ravioli was my favorite. But honestly never had a bad dish at this place. It's very small with an intimate atmosphere which I loved. The chef comes out to say hello to his guest which is always a lovely touch. The server I believe was his wife and also lovely but put me off a little when she scolded me for not eating the carrots in my salad. Told me to let them know next time so as not to waste. OK?! I didn't know there would be carrots to let her know but now I know to let her know. But honestly I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The scolding didn't stop me from returning over and over. I just make sure to let them know "No carrots for me please."
